Scholarship Opportunities
One of the missions of the American Paint Horse Foundation is Youth education. APHF offers two scholarship opportunities: academic scholarships and in-arena scholarships through the APHA World Championship Show.
Academic Scholarships
The selection criteria for APHF academic scholarships is based on the member’s involvement with the AjPHA, academic merit, community service and other application materials. These scholarships are renewable for up to four years by the recipient.
World Championship Show Scholarships
APHA is the first breed association to offer an all-scholarship Youth World Championship Show, held annually in Fort Worth, Texas, during June and July. Every Youth World Championship class at the APHA World Show awards scholarship funds to the top three exhibitors and one randomly selected exhibitor from the class.
Request Scholarship Funds
Scholarship funds are held in trust by the APHF until requested by the recipient.
Request your scholarship funds:
- Application for funds must be made within four years of high school graduation; however, World Show scholarship funds can also be used for dual-credit college classes while you are still in high school.
- Scholarship funds are sent directly to the accredited institution and are only used for tuition, books, lab fees and/or meal tickets. Unused funds can be rolled over to the next semester or returned to APHF. Recipients don’t lose the rolled-over funds, but they will need to reapply for the balance.
- If you have a substantial college fund available from APHF, it is recommended to request only what funds you need for each academic year in the annual request.
- Scholarship fund requests must be made at least 4 to 6 weeks before classes start to allow for processing and fund distribution to the institution.
