Chrome Cash Matching Funds
Cash in on additional incentives for Paints at your show by applying for Chrome Cash Matching Funds. Approximately $50,000 in matching Chrome Cash is available for distribution annually. Chrome Cash Matching Funds DOUBLES the benefit to APHA members, while meeting exhibitors where they are—whether that’s at an APHA-approved show or discipline-specific event.
- APHA-approved events request Chrome Cash matching funds of either $5,000 or $10,000
- The approved event is required to provide matching funds at the amount requested or more.
- For example, if $5,000 in Chrome Cash matching funds is requested from APHA, at least $5,000 must be matched by the approved event.
- Scholarships do not qualify towards matching funds.
- All show organizers must submit $10 per Chrome Cash entry to APHA upon the completion of the event along with show results.
- Events must submit Chrome Cash results using a template provided by APHA within 14 days of the completion of the event, including all Chrome Cash entries and amounts paid to each placing.
- Events agree to promote Chrome Cash prior to the event.
- Events are responsible for determining entry fees to be charged for each Chrome Cash class/sidepot/race.
- Events determine which Chrome Cash classes/sidepots/races they want to offer and how added money is distributed. Changes to classes can be made up to 30 days before the event. No changes are allowed after that point.
Eligibility Requirements
- Chrome Cash Matching Fund payouts must be made available to all APHA-registered horses, provided the owner is a current APHA member and may not be conditioned on those horses being registered with another breed.
- Chrome Cash classes must be entered per each event’s rules and the corresponding entry fee paid.
- Applications may be submitted from November 1, 2025 through November 30, 2025 or until funds have been dispersed.
- Submit your event’s application online.
- Applications will be approved by staff discretion based on their potential for growth and for generating memberships, registrations and transfers. Geographic location will also be a consideration.
- To be eligible for funds again in subsequent years, events must demonstrate 10% growth of horses in Paint classes/sidepots/races from year to year.
Chrome Cash is a simple program that gives exhibitors a monetary incentive to show APHA-registered horses. International show organizers can apply for matching Chrome Cash funds to help attract more Paint owners to their events, including both APHA-approved and discipline-specific competitions.
