Ruby & Pink Buckle to offer guaranteed 2025 Chrome Buckle payouts for Paints

APHA and the Pink and Ruby Buckle events have again partnered to offer the Chrome Buckle Powered by PBRIP, an exclusive incentive for Paint Horses competing at those barrel racing events. This initiative will be featured at the West Ruby Buckle, Central Ruby Buckle, East Ruby Buckle and Pink Buckle events in 2025.

“Barrel racing and our own Paint Barrel Racing Incentive Program are growing rapidly, and the Chrome Buckle Powered by PBRIP continues to elevate the role of Paint Horses in the barrel-racing community,” APHA CEO Dave Dellin said. “We’re excited to provide Paint Horses with more opportunities to increase their ROI in these prestigious buckle events.”

Cold Hard Cash

The Pink Buckle and Ruby Buckle events have revolutionized barrel racing, and the Chrome Buckle powered by PBRIP further enhances the value that Paint Horse “chrome” brings to owners, breeders and exhibitors. In 2025, the Pink Buckle will feature a $2,000-added Chrome Buckle in the Open 4D, paid out in the average. Additionally, the Central, East and West Ruby Buckle events will each offer a $500-added Chrome Buckle in the Open 4D (80% payback), also paid out in the average for each event.

Complete the Chrome Buckle entry form.
Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements.
Pay the entry fee.

Chrome Buckle Powered by PBRIP Rules:

The horse must be registered with APHA. Both Regular Registry and Solid Paint-Bred Registry horses are eligible.
The owner must be a current APHA member in good standing.
The Chrome Buckle Powered by PBRIP class must be entered according to each event’s rules. Complete the entry form, pay the fees and provide the horse’s APHA registration number.
The Chrome Buckle powered by PBRIP is a class within a class.
