KEEPING YOU INFORMED

A Message from Karen Thomas,
At the conclusion of the 2020 APHA Convention,  I will humbly be tendering my resignation from the Executive Committee.  I do this with tears in my eyes and a grateful heart.   My decision did not come easily.  It was a journey of soul searching and endless prayer. As most of you know, my family has endured heartache and challenges in the past two years.  Medical issues continue to plague my precious husband and family.
I fear these challenges will require my complete and full attention.   My faith and reliance on God sustains me and gives me strength and courage.  Most of all, it gives me hope for the future.I have truly been blessed and honored to serve this Association alongside the current Executive Committee.  While I am stepping down from this leadership position, I am in no way leaving my APHA family.  The inspiration and encouragement from each of you means more to me than you will ever know. There is no possible way for me to thank you all for your constant love and support.Stepping aside is not what I do best.  It is the correct decision for my husband,  my family,  and myself at this time.  I must devote all of my time and energy into the quality of life for Sidney.  Our lives were forever changed by the loss of our son J.T., and now the life altering diagnosis for one of the strongest, hardest working horseman I know, my husband.  We were and continue to be humbled by the outpouring of love and compassion following our challenges.  If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart.I am fully confident in this decision.  I know that our Association is in good hands and has a bright future.   This is not good bye.  This is only a change in the course of life.

With love and continued blessings,
Karen Thomas
