Laurie Roden
Roden, a Lifetime APHA member, has competed on Paint horses in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, California, Texas, Utah and Oklahoma and has enjoyed a well rounded amateur show career in Halter, Hunter Under Saddle, English Equitation, Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Showmanship, Western Riding, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending and Stakes Race. Laurie is the current APH Foundation President and has been involved in the Arizona Paint Horse Club for several years and is active on the club’s board. She is an employee owner and Group President of HDR Field Services—a firm specializing in engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services. She and her husband Randy own several broodmares that they breed for Halter, English, Western and Speed Events. The couple has two grown daughters.

Angie Willis

Angie has been serving APHA members for 21 years! She was born and raised in the Fort Worth area and loves traveling with her family, attending concerts and spending time with her buckskin tobiano mare, Decco. She spent her childhood around horses and enjoyed participating in riding clubs in the area. There’s a good chance you’ve experienced Angie’s exceptional customer service skills when conducting your APHA business, whether through the APHA office or at the MemberCare Booth at the World Show.

APH Foundation welcomes new board members
Five new members were named to the American Paint Horse Foundation to serve a three-year term. Amy Novacek, Amanda Palmer, Dr. Craig Wood, Megan Brown and Pat Newman were named to replace board members whose terms had expired. The Foundation board consists of up to 15 members and is chaired by Laurie Roden of Cave Creek, AZ.
Amy Novacek of Joshua, Texas, is a longtime APHA exhibitor. She and her husband, Jay, have a long history of philanthropic efforts with disadvantaged youth and advocating for wounded military members. Amy is always looking for ways to help others.
Dr. Craig Wood of Owenton, Kentucky, is a two-time APHA President. Dr. Wood is a member of the University of Kentucky faculty and has served and chaired on many APHA committees and task forces. Craig has more than 35 years of experience in the horse industry and has worked as a State Director since 2008.
Amanda Palmer of Floral City, Florida, has been a longtime show manager and exhibitor. She has been a member of APHA since 2006 and has been showing since 2007. She is actively involved with the Florida Paint Horse Club and has been a State Director since 2017.
Megan Brown of Alexandria, Virginia, began showing Paints as a youth at age 15. She continues to show in Amateur events. She has served on several committees and task forces and has been a State Director since 2016. Megan has a long career in historic preservation and has assisted many non-profit boards across the country.
Pat Newman of Springfield, Illinois, has been a life member since 1978. He served on the APHA Executive Committee and served as President in 1999. He has served as chair or vice-chair on several committees and has been a State Director since 1985. Pat has over 40 years experience in construction management and has experience in funds management, regulations, legal, banking and profitability.
