It’s time to make plans to attend and be a part of decisions to be made at the 2017 Paint Horse Convention. Hear from current President Susie Shaw and President-Elect George Ready. Cast your vote for the newest EC member and discuss and vote on rule change proposals for the 2018 rule book. There’s too much to miss, be there and make your contribution to a standing committee, Board of Directors’ meeting or furthering of APHA’s mission extended to all members of the Association. There’s something for everyone!
Like last year we are looking for individuals, companies or clubs to sponsor snack breaks or continental breakfasts during this four day event. If you are interested please contact Theresa Brown. We will market you or your club or company for your generosity in our Convention program and with signage. A big thank you to last years sponsors for the goodies that helped us through our meetings.
APHA New Mission Statement
The Executive Committee approved the new mission statement representing a new path forward for APHA which reads:
We inspire, nurture, promote and provide meaningful experiences to generations interested in preserving the versatile Paint Horse.

2016 Rule Change Proposals timeline
August 1 – Postmark Deadline for all rule change proposals.
August 30 – Staff deadline for processing, reviewing and adding staff and financial impact comments.
October 8 – Rules Committee meeting in Fort Worth, Texas to review all proposals for proper and legal wording.
October 24 – Rule Change Proposals will be uploaded to APHA web site for review by members. Rule change proposals will be assigned to a standing committee for further review for Convention voting.
February 2017 – Rule change proposals will be mailed to standing committees with their committee agendas.
February 24-27, 2017 – APHA Convention, where members will discuss Rule Change Proposals for forwarding to the Board of Directors for voting.
