We promote, preserve and provide meaningful experiences with Paint Horses.

The Ultimate Youth Challenge – The challenge focuses on the activity of youth members within AjPHA and local clubs while highlighting opportunities Youth have within the organization besides showing horses. To participate in the Ultimate Youth Challenge, participates must have a current AjPHA membership and hold an active club membership.

To enter, youth members must complete the entry form which will include their horse related activities from July 1, 2022 to June 24, 2023.

Approved Activities

Showing Activities

3 Points – Showing at an APHA approved show
10 Point – Attending an APHA approved show
10 Point – Showing a paint horse at a non-breed show
10 Point – Attending a non-breed show

Fundraising Activities

1 Point – For every dollar you raise for the executive committee project *
5 Points – Holding a fundraiser to raise money for yourself to go towards horses
10 Points – Holding a fundraiser to raise money for your local club
15 Points – Holding a fundraiser to raise money for the AjPHA/executive committee project *

Advertisement Activities

4 Points – Riding a paint horse at a non-breed show/4-H show.
10 Points – Participating in a horse clinic
20 Points – Setting up a booth at any type of show advertising the APHA/AjPHA *

Horse Activities

5 Points – Hauling your own horse to a show
5 Points – Banding/braiding a horse
5 Points – Clipping/trimming a horse
5 Points – Trail riding on a paint horse
5 Points – Being there/watching your horse get shown
10 Points – Attending a vet appointment with your horse

Service Work Activities

10 Points – Volunteering/working at an APHA approved show (scribe, gate manager,
taking down jumps/trail, etc
10 Points – Anytype of service work inside or outside the APHA *

Engagement Activities

5 pts: Will you attend the Youth Leadership Conference? *
5 pts: Will you attend the Youth convention? *
5 pts: Activities done with your local youth club
5 pts: Attending a youth meeting for your local youth club
5 pts: Will you participate in the Youth Team tournament?*
10 pts: For each of your club memberships
10 pts: Running for a position on the executive committee
15 pts: For being a national director
15 pts: Are you being active in your local youth club? (signature needed from
youth leader) *
15 pts: For any type of PAC participation
50 pts: For being a member of the AjPHA

Education Activities

5 pts: Attending a judging competition
5 pts: Active member of the FFA
5 pts: Active member of 4-H
5 pts: Taking an equine science class/veterinary class
5 pts: Educational awards related to horses *
10 pts: Consistent use of Horse-IQ
10 pts: Attending a horse clinic
10 pts: Participating in a judging competition
15 pts: Participating in the AjPHA judging competition
