This unique event for cow horse and ranch horse exhibitors is cow work only. One class for fence work and one class for boxing. Added money plus jackpotted entry fees are paid out in a 4D format modeled after the barrel racing divisional payout system. Payout distribution is based on scores on a two-day average.

ALL BREEDS / ALL AGES INVITED!

ENTRIES

Fence 4D Challenge $2,500 Added:  $150 entry fee/run ($50 jackpot, $50 cattle, $50 office)
Boxing 4D Challenge $2,500 Added: $150 entry fee/run  ($50 jackpot, $50 cattle, $50 office)
Steer Stopping 2D Challenge:  $100 entry fee/run  ($25 jackpot, $50 cattle, $25 office)

Open to all breeds. No eligibility restrictions for the classes so any horse and any exhibitor can compete. In addition, a horse can be entered multiple times and with multiple exhibitors.

Enter as many times as you like.


Entry Deadline: June 29, 2018 by 5 p.m.

Add-On Entries – Entries will be accepted after June 29, but fresh cattle will not be guaranteed.

 

REIN WORK PAID WARM-UPS – July 5

Rein work paid warm-ups will be offered beginning at 8 a.m. on July 5.

5 minutes for $20/individual run.

Priority given to exhibitors entered in the Fence & Boxing Challenge.

CATTLE PAID WARM-UPS 

Fence and boxing paid warm-ups will be offered beginning at 8 a.m. on July 6.

4 minutes for $50/individual run.

STALLS

2 nights for $60

All horses must be stalled.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

To exhibit, all horses must have:

  • Negative Coggins – dated no earlier than July 6, 2017
  • Out of state horses:  Health Certificate – issued no earlier than June 7, 2018

RULES

Event will be run in accordance with NRCHA rules.

PAYOUTS

Fence & Boxing:

Paid on two-day average – divisional payout – 4 divisions (4D)

Added money plus jackpotted entry fees will be paid out in a 4D format modeled after the barrel racing divisional payout system.

Each D pays equally – $625 added to each D

Division Splits – 5 point splits

Example: 148 is high score in class

1D winner = 148 score

2D winner = 143 score

3D winner = 138 score

4D winner = 133 score

 

Steer Stopping:

Paid on two runs – divisional payout – 2 divisions (2D)

A portion of the entry fees will be jackpotted and paid out in a 2D format modeled after the barrel racing divisional payout system.

TIE-BREAKERS

Judges will break ties at their discretion by maneuver scores on the scoresheet. If scoresheets are identical, then ties will be broken by first worked in the working order.
