Big bucks on the table for 2017 APHA World Show reining challenges

More than $40,000 has been added to the reining challenge classes at the 2017 APHA Open/Amateur World Championship Show, taking place September 20–October 1 in Fort Worth, Texas—now, there are more reasons than ever to saddle up and slide your Paint to a big payday. This year, the challenge classes will be leveled using NRHA’s edibility criteria with three levels taking place concurrently. All classes are NRHA dual-approved.

Breakdown of added money for the 2017 World Show’s reining challenges are:

  • 4-, 5- & 6-Year-Old Reining Challenge (NRHA Level 4, 3, 2) – $15,000 added
    • Open Level 4 – $10,000 added / Open Level 3 – $3,000 added / Open Level 2 – $2,000 added
  • Non-Pro 4-, 5- & 6-Year-Old Reining Challenge (NRHA Level 4, 3, 2) – $15,000 added
    • Non-Pro Level 4 – $10,000 added / Non-Pro Level 3 – $3,000 added / Non-Pro Level 2 – $2,000 added
  • 3-Year-Old Reining Challenge (NRHA Level 4, 3, 2) – $5,000 added
    • Open Level 4 – $2,000 added / Open Level 3 – $1,500 added / Open Level 2 – $1,500 added
  • Non-Pro 3-Year-Old Reining Challenge (NRHA Level 4, 3, 2) – $5,000 added
    • Non-Pro Level 4 – $2,000 added / Non-Pro Level 3 – $1,500 added / Non-Pro Level 2 – $1,500 added

All challenge classes are open to Regular Registry Paints, as well as solid Paint-breds that have been genetically tested and confirmed to carry at least one Paint pattern gene from an APHA-approved lab.
